Neuropsychiatry

DEPARTMENT
Neuropsychiatry Department
The Department of Neurology and Psychiatry at the MCU-FDT Medical Foundation has been an integral part of the institution for over three decades, contributing significantly to the training of competent medical graduates and providing high-quality patient care. With established goals and visions, the department continuously aims to enhance its services to meet and exceed local and global standards.
Comprised of fully trained specialists in Neurology and Psychiatry, our dedicated staff is committed to educating proficient graduates and delivering exceptional patient management. The department stands out as a unique entity within the medical foundation, having successfully distinguished itself from the traditional Internal Medicine department, a move that has set us apart from other institutions in Metropolitan Manila and allowed for more focused and independent operational and educational strategies.
Originally part of the Department of Internal Medicine, Neurology and Psychiatry became its own entity in March 1988, thanks to the visionary efforts of the then College of Medicine Dean, Dr. Lutgarda Celestino Quito, and the inaugural department Chairman, Dr. Rogelio Belleza. Their leadership and commitment have provided a solid foundation for the department’s growth and success. As we move forward, we continue to build on this legacy with strategic plans and ongoing programs aimed at advancing our institution’s mission and impact.
