The Heart Station at MCU-FDTMF Hospital is a dedicated Cardiology Section serving both adult and pediatric patients. It handles a high volume of patients monthly, accommodating both walk-ins and scheduled visits. The station is not only equipped for diagnostic services but also specializes in ultrasound-guided procedures, enhancing its ability to diagnose and manage various cardiovascular conditions. CLINIC SCHEDULE
CT Scan & Xray : Operates 24/7
Ultrasound : Monday – Friday 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM
Saturday 08:00 AM – 12:00 NN
1. Bring at least 1 liter of water for KUB/Whole Abdomen ultrasound procedure
2. Accommodation of patient for the performance of the requested procedure is on “First come, First served basis”. Patient will give a number, however if your number is called and for any reason you did not respond. We will entertain another patient. Admitted patient will be alternately scanned.
3. Waiting time for each procedure to be completed took at least 30 to 45 minutes depends on the number of organ to be scanned in different views.
4. Radiologist may request the patient to be back for re-scanning for verification/confirmation of the examination under study
5. Patient should set the day for the requested procedure to avoid conflict with his/her work.
Please ensure you have a request form for your examination. If there’s a chance of pregnancy, kindly inform your physician or Radiologic Technologist.
Preparation:
A. CT Scan for Contrast Study
1. No intake of Losartan and Metformin 1 day before the procedure/examination
2. Take 2 tablets of Methylprednisolone 16mg 12 hrs. a night before of the procedure.
3. 4 hours fasting/ light meal at 4am prior on the scheduled date of the procedure.
4. Take 2 tablets of Methylprednisolone 16mg 2 hrs before of the scheduled date of the procedure.
5. For patient with Asthma: Inject 250mg/vial of Hydrocortisone 1 hour prior to the scheduled date of the examination/procedure.
B. X-ray for Special Procedures, KUB and Lumbosacral
1. Plain lugaw or cereals at 6PM
2. Take 3 Dulcolux tablets with 5 minutes interval starting 8PM
3. 60 cc castor oil at 9PM (if necessary)
4. Nothing by mouth by 12MN (no midnight snack)
5. Dulcolux suppository at 4AM
6. No Breakfast (omit smoking)
Note: the patient will experience feeling of bowel movement.
C. Ultrasound Whole Abdomen, Upper Abdomen, KUB
1. Plain lugaw or cereals at 6PM
2. Take 3 Dulcolux tablets with 5minutes interval starting 8PM
3. 30 cc castor oil at 9PM (if necessary)
4. Nothing by mouth by 12MN (no midnight snack)
5. Dulcolux suppository at 4AM
6. No Breakfast
